WORLD RACE IS COMING TO JAPAN January 2014!
A WorldRace squad will visit Kobe/Osaka, Japan in January 2014.
WorldRace is a radical outreach of young people going to serve and share the Kingdom in 11 countries over the course of 11 months. (Check an overview and brief history here:http://www.theworldrace.org/?tab=about  Information on Adventures in Mission, the overseeing organisation is here: http://www.adventures.org/about/index.asp?iname=missions  )

We are excited to host a squad for their first ever visit to Japan, and are looking for partners who are willing to host a team (6-7 members) in their local area for three weeks in January (Jan 9th to 28th)

DATES:
Tue, Jan 7  Arrive in Japan; orientation
Thu, Jan 9  Disperse to ministry locations, homestays etc.
Tue, Jan 28  Re-group, debriefing camp
Sun, Feb 2  Depart Japan

LOCATIONS
Teams will look after their own meal and transportation needs. We are basically only looking for hosts to house the teams. Accommodation could be very simple; everyone sleeping in a church building, house etc. or homestays with families or singles. (Team members must stay a minimum of 2 people together, so unfortunately single-person homestays are not an option.)

STRATEGY, MINISTRY & ACTIVITIES:
Each team will be very flexible, depending on the needs of the hosts and how God leads them each day.

Teams will pray and ask God where and what to do daily. We are planning to have them focus on university campuses and other high-density areas where they can meet English speaking "People of Peace", serve people, build relationships and share the Kingdom. Our expectation is that they will meet key people who begin the disciple process, fall in love with Jesus, and then the team members will equip and encourage them to reach out to their own social groups. They can follow up via email, Skype etc. to see these people established in Christ. If need be, we can network with them too to provide guidance and discipleship.

There is no expectation of being involved in ministry at a church or particular group etc. but they will of course be open to invitations to minister and serve in whatever way needed. Also, the teams are open to serve in whatever practical way the host needs.

Are you looking for a way to serve in a local university campus or other neighbourhood area? A WR team might be a way to meet "people of peace" (Luke 10) and see the good news of the Kingdom invade these many social groups. Even if it doesn't benefit your local congregation directly, imagine if the Kingdom begins to invade a group of students, and spread throughout a local university campus.
Think how the connected networks of social groups could come to life as the "yeast" of the Kingdom spreads naturally from one person to another.
Join with us in expecting something amazing from God for this time!

FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS and LIMITATIONS
Financially, the teams are not able to pay for housing, and although they have their own sleeping bags etc. it would be nice to provide some bedding for them. They have a daily budget for their own meals and transportation, however, any meals or transport provided would be most appreciated. As much as possible we would want a whole team to be in one local area, nearby a university campus or some place that they can walk to daily for building connections. Also, a church building or one main homestay that would allow them to cook meals etc. would be marvellous.

Please contact me if you are interested!
